Biofeedback (also known as neurofeedback) was used as an alternative treatment for a variety of diseases for several decades. The technique involves electronic monitoring to determine if you are unconscious, to a certain physiological responses to stressors have. The instrument then emits a signal so that you can recognize the cause of physiological change. Then you can modify or eliminate the cause, or deliberately change your reaction toStimuli.

Biofeedback techniques successfully used to develop the conditions to treat, including:

Chronic headaches INSOMNIA
ATM CONDITIONS HYPERTENSION
Stress disorder, ADHD, ADD
Anxiety Disorders Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Biofeedback works on the theory that many physiological problems can be caused by improper physiological responses to external stimuli or stress. There are different levels of stress reactions, through the body thatneed to understand.

First, a normal response to external stress. This stress can be physical, emotional or chemical. A normal response is an increase in blood pressure and heart rate, the body's physiological response to "fight or flight", to mobilize. This reaction is usually of short duration, and the physiological increase of physical functioning normally again in a short period of time. This recovery will prepare the body to use its reserves to restore and conserve energy forthe next "emergency". This is a healthy, normal reaction to stress.

Second: After repeated cases of external stress, the body takes usually this excited state of emergency. The entire nervous system, including the autonomic nervous system into overdrive. The blood pressure is consistently high, high heart rate, all senses are amplified, and the muscles are always tight as a "normal" for your body. Insomnia, anxiety, high blood pressure, muscle weaknessVoltage problems occur, and ATMs all at this level of response to stress.

Third: After a long period of physiological activity continues to increase, the body uses its energy reserves and will enter into a state of exhaustion. Lethargy, depression, illness and even death occurs at this level.

Biofeedback can help many people with stage 2 or 3 responses to stress in two ways:

First, you need to activate the external factors of stress seen your answers. BiofeedbackTheir instruments measure physiological responses, so that you can recognize when they begin to change. You should then be able to determine the cause of stress from observation. After identifying the cause of stress, you are then able to minimize the exposure to stress, or change the stress response.

Second, techniques taught by biofeedback therapists will allow you to identify your specific reactions and learn to control and modifyResponse.

Chiropractic has always supported the theory that the nervous system controls all aspects of health of the human body. Biofeedback and fits well with the philosophy of chiropractic. Once the chiropractor has some disorder of the nervous system, biofeedback can learn how the nervous system, people with disabilities in order to maximize the health check.
